Dive The Maldives With the Maldives Aggressor II
The Maldives Islands are a scuba divers paradise which are located Southwest of India. Lying on the equator in the middle of the Indian Ocean. There are 26 ring shaped atolls and more than 1000 coral islands which feature palm trees, sparkling white sand beaches, turquoise blue lagooons, beautiful visibility, warm water, and coral reefs featuring tons of marine life!
There are three very different types of diving in the Maldives. Inside the atolls, outside the atolls, and inside the channels or passes. Inside the channels and passes where there exists a great current, you will also find a massive congregation of fish life.
There are two seasons to watch for monsoons. The northeast monsoon season runs from December to April and offers fair weather but with significant currents. The southwest monsoon season runs from May to October and features more wind but less current. The itineraries which the Aggressor offers plans for these seasons and takes you to locations where you are most likely to have the best diving under the safest and most enjoyable conditions.
Big ticket items such as mantas and whale sharks are seen year round. Mantas are most plentiful at feeding stations from May-November. Whale sharks are most common in April and May as well as October and November.
